As of today, September 23rd 2015, I work with WOCA oils exclusively. There is no coming back to polyurethane.
I am here to deliver the most beautiful and durable floor to you. ( I have to correct myself: not the most beautiful, but stunning wood floor. Please see the file attached on the right).
Here are a few advantages of a floor finished with WOCA oils:
- stunning floor, - the most durable floor, - the most eco-friendly floor, - easy to maintain and clean, - easy touch-ups and repairs, - you floor would never need re-sanding again, unless you decide to change the color.
WOCA oils are used on wood floors in restaurants, shopping malls, museums, airports, businesses and homes around the world.
Therefore, I am not the cheapest guy out there. The cost of finishes does not allow me to do that. However, I am trying to be as reasonable as I can. To give you a very good example: it's like getting a BMW for the price of a Honda (I charge for a Honda, you get a BMW).
If you are looking for a guy to refinish your floor cheaply, using some sort of the cheapest polyurethane finish, please look somewhere else. I've had enough of those toxic finishes. Do not expect the guy delivering custom floors to be the cheapest.
Custom is about quality, integrity, and stunning wood floors.
So why do I work so hard? The answer is very simple. I do not gauge my success by the number of floors I do, or even how much I make. Instead, my focus is on quality and beauty of hardwood floors, my customer's experiences. At the same time I am not the cheapest guy out there nor I work for free.
UPDATE: Not everyone is the same or does the work the same way. I know it's hard to understand. You would think like changing the oil in your vehicle, that is done more or less the same way by any mechanic you take it to.
However, hardwood floor and stairs installation, and especially refinishing is more like an art rather than a straightforward task.
There are still nightmare stories about work done by cheaper guys and , surprisingly, the most famous Big Name companies in Calgary.
Think twice who you are going to let to touch your floor. My reviews are posted by real people on my Google+ page.
A special note for people willing to take advantage of harsh economy times:
I, Andrew Anderson, continue to install and refinish floors for people who need to have them done professionally. I am not decreasing my rates, because absolutely nothing, not a nail is made here in Canada. Nails/staples, glue, sandpaper, finishes (oil), parts for machinery are more expensive now because of the exchange rate. I am not going to work on your floor for next to nothing. If there are no floors to work on, I'd go home and start living. If you need to find someone cheap, go on Kijiji and find someone who is desperate. Do not expect the guy with the best Google reviews to be the cheapest.
